How the three-rune cast works
One cast draws three distinct runes from the full 24-rune Elder Futhark, taken without replacement into the three fixed Norn positions — Urðr (Past), Verðandi (Present), and Skuld (Future), named for the three Norns who weave fate in Norse myth. Each rune shows its glyph, name, transliterated sound, and short meaning, so you can read the story the three positions tell together.
Fair random selection
The three runes are shuffled with a Fisher–Yates draw and taken from the top of the row, so no rune can repeat within a cast. Rangdom uses cryptographically secure randomness, so the next cast is not predictable from previous draws.
Upright only
This cast is upright only. Several Elder Futhark runes — such as Isa, Gebo, and Sowilo — are vertically symmetric and have no valid inverted form, so a generic reversed (merkstave) toggle would be misleading. Every rune is read in its upright meaning, matching the single-rune generator.
