Learn the Korean alphabet (Hangul)
Hangul, the Korean alphabet, is built from 24 basic jamo: 14 consonants (ㄱ giyeok through ㅎ hieut) and 10 vowels (ㅏ a through ㅣ i). Unlike Chinese characters, Hangul is a true alphabet — jamo combine into syllable blocks — so learning these 24 letters and their sounds is the fastest route to reading Korean. This page pairs a full reference chart with a self-scoring flashcard quiz so you can drill jamo recognition.
How the quiz works
Each round shows one Hangul jamo and four possible readings (Revised Romanization). Pick the reading you think matches; the quiz marks it right or wrong, reveals the correct reading, and keeps a running score, current streak, and best streak for the session. Press Next letter for a new card or Reset score to start over. Every glyph and answer choice is selected with the Web Crypto API, entirely in your browser.
