BMR and TDEE from sex, age, height, and weight (Mifflin–St Jeor)
Your Basal Metabolic Rate is the energy your body uses at rest. This tool uses the Mifflin–St Jeor equation: BMR = 10·kg + 6.25·cm − 5·age + 5 for males and BMR = 10·kg + 6.25·cm − 5·age − 161 for females. Choose Metric to enter height in centimeters and weight in kilograms, or Imperial for inches and pounds (converted with kg = lb ÷ 2.20462 and cm = in × 2.54).
Total Daily Energy Expenditure multiplies the BMR by an activity factor — Sedentary 1.2, Light 1.375, Moderate 1.55, Active 1.725, and Very active 1.9 — to estimate the calories needed to maintain your current weight. Results update live as you type, rounded to whole kcal/day, with an inline error instead of a result when the age, height, or weight is empty, non-numeric, zero, or negative. This is the Mifflin–St Jeor method only — macro splits, weight-loss timelines, alternate methods (Harris–Benedict, Katch–McArdle), and any health advice are out of scope.
