What is my birthstone?
Your birthstone is decided by the month you were born. Pick your birth month above and the finder shows that month's modern (Jewelers of America) birthstone along with its colour, a short meaning, and any common traditional or alternate stones. There are 12 months, from January's garnet to December's turquoise, and several months have more than one accepted stone — June, for example, is pearl, alexandrite, or moonstone. Everything is worked out in your browser; no birth date, time, or personal data is required or collected.
Birthstones by month
The reference chart lists all 12 months in order with each month's primary stone, colour, meaning, and traditional alternates. Use it to look up any month's birthstone, compare the modern and traditional stones, or find a gift stone for a birthday. The modern list is the one most jewellers use today; the traditional and alternate stones noted for a month reflect older or regional customs that are still widely recognised.
How the quiz works
Each round asks in one of two directions — it either shows a month and asks for its birthstone, or shows a birthstone and asks for its month — and offers four choices. Pick the answer you think matches; the quiz marks it right or wrong, reveals the correct pairing, and keeps a running score, current streak, and best streak for the session.
